I can offer a few Christian names - Jimmy Young,Don Glasper,Geoff McConnell(died last year), - all Willington lads I believe,latter two policemen. George "Soss" Brown,Norman "Hawkeye" Hawkes,"Tut" Terry? Barlow,Colin Plews(also Willington lad became a journalist - I think I bumped into him during my Northern League days at Willington as well as Colin Neil. I remember that as a first former these lot,such as Don Glasper, looked like bloody giants to me - but not for long! Don married an Etherley girl called Ann Kay who was my first fantasy. I got wrong for throwing chewing gum which stuck in her beautiful blonde hair at the flicks in Toft Hill Social Centre. Trouble was that I was totally innocent, - of the chewing gum incident as well!
